My Story
I came to Colorado in 2007 to study Political Science at CU Boulder, where I quickly found a home in the climbing community—working at both The Spot and Boulder Rock Club. I later completed a degree in Sustainable Design Policy at Metro State University in Denver, commuting daily on the RTD system. My academic background combines political science, environmental science, and design—and I’ve spent years exploring creative solutions to humanity’s shared challenges.
I’ve been married to my husband for eight years. Before COVID, he worked as an electrical engineer in Boulder, but like many families, we experienced profound disruption during the pandemic. That turning point led us to take control of our lives. Today, we run our own small business here in Longmont, homeschool our children, and live by the values of sweat equity, homesteading, and food independence.
I know what it’s like to fall through the cracks. As a young woman, I experienced homelessness. Years later, I watched stable income vanish almost overnight. I’ve seen firsthand how outdated, bureaucratic public aid systems often fail the people they’re meant to help. Because of these lived experiences—and my background in sustainable and permaculture design—I bring a perspective that’s both principled and imaginative when it comes to local governance.
My approach is different. I’m not here to propose more taxes, more fees, or more promises that government can fix everything. I’m here to protect your freedom, limit government overreach, and help spark a future where Longmont thrives through self-reliance, community purpose, and a renewed middle class.
But I can’t do it alone. I can bring the ideas, but it takes all of us to build something real. Together, we can shape a future where Longmont isn’t just another pass-through town—but a beacon of independence, creativity, and courage.
